Experienced Mental Health
Professional
I am an experienced mental health professional who graduated from Psychology School at the University of Costa Rica and since 1995 I have worked as a psychotherapist providing my services for individuals, couples, families and groups. In 2008 I obtained a Master's (M.Sc.) in Marriage and Family Therapy from Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas. Since then, I have been working under my LMFT #201365 license in Texas. Throuhgout all my years of my professional experience my passion has been helping and supporting my clients while they overcome their challenges in their lives. In Costa Rica I was also a speaker for workshops and retreats. In Texas my professional experience was enhanced helping couples and families to achieve a higher level of quality in their relationships and working with people from different cultural, spiritual and ethnic backgrounds. I also became a certified Parent Educator in Positive Discipline and was able to participate in the workshop lead directly from Jane Nelsen, the author of the Positive Discipline Series and co-founder of a worldwide training program, through the Positive Discipline Association.
In 2012 I had the honor to attend Dr. Gottman's Institute 1st Level Training for Couples Therapy lead by Dr. Gottman himself.

MY APPROACH:
My approach in therapy when working with couples is mostly Solution Focused and Brief Psychotherapy. With this approach the focus is on the present and immediate future. We work by setting achievable goals that makes the therapeutic process clear and easy to understand. Also when working with individuals I utilize CBT techniques and coping skills for anxiety, depression and stress management.
Relationship Coaching:
By April 2018 I obtained a certification as a Master Life Coach to be able to help people, especially couples from all over the world who are looking for someone with experience to help them achieve their relationship goals.
I offer coaching and counseling services for couples, that are seeking improvement in their lives no matter what the situation is.
My services are provided in English or Spanish.
